Recruitment and Work Experience Opportunities

JSP is committed to developing and training highly skilled lawyers.  We are passionate about giving young lawyers the opportunity to pursue their chosen career in criminal litigation.

We offer regular work experience placements for both under-graduates and post-graduates to give those candidates an insight into the work that we do.  As an indication of our commitment to this process, 3 of our current employees first applied and completed a work experience placement with the firm.  Here is a recent work experience applicant’s thoughts on their placement:

“Thank you so much for the opportunity of work experience at JSP Solicitors.

It was a wonderful experience and made me even more certain that I wish to pursue a career in Criminal Law.

Over the course of the work experience, I was able to spend many hours with different employees – listening to the expert advice they would give to clients and the real commitment everyone gave to each individual case. It was incredibly rewarding to be able to help advise clients and I truly believe the knowledge I have learnt over my work experience, along with my detailed notes made over the past week, will greatly enhance my law degree studies.

Everyone’s advice and experience has been tremendously helpful throughout this past week. I’d be extremely grateful if you could pass my thank you on to everyone who has helped me over the week.

I truly appreciate the confidence you showed in me by giving me this work experience. I hope that I can stay in contact with everyone at JSP Solicitors in the hope of continuing my work experience with the firm on various other breaks from university. I also hope after graduation, I might be able to speak with you at greater length about the directions I might take in pursuing a career with JSP.”

JSP is also actively recruiting new paralegals.  All our paralegals are encouraged to develop in the expectation that it will lead to a full Training Contract for suitable candidates.  Applicants should be at least post-graduate level with a view to undertake or indeed have completed either the LPC or Bar Course.

Work experience placement applicants should be at least at undergraduate level with a wish to pursue a career in criminal litigation.

If you wish to apply for a paralegal position or a work experience placement please e-mail your CV to Jane Werry on jw@jspsllp.com
